Inspirational Quotes to Live By...

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

-- Helen Keller

If you want to be happy, be

-- Leo Tolstoy

The friend in my adversity I shall cherish the most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

-- Ulysses Grant

Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in an eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand - and melting like a snowflake.

-- MB Ray

In one of the darkest, lonliest and saddest time of my life...

I'm so depressed...

When you are worn out, it is time to change things

Example - peers.

Another best _______ so far

I have experienced the best CS prof so far! I am very proud to be sir Mario’s student. Super cool, witty at galing niya magturo. Lahat nadadaan niya sa kwento. Eto some of his quotable quotes and stories sa last day of class namin kahapon:

• “Money can’t buy happiness, but it helps!”

• One way of proving time travel: At the time that you write a diary that goes ‘Pag naimbento ko ang time machine, babalik ako sa moment na sinusulat ko ito’, your future self comes walking into your door. (*question* E pano pag nagtatago, di lang nagpakita sayo..)

Pinanood namin kanina “Voices of a Distant Star.” Ang moral of the story – kahit gaano kaganda ang technology natin, mayroon pa ring propagation delay. Haha. Ang kulet talaga!

• Nakasulat sa shirt niya – ‘A mushroom a day keeps the koopas away’ na may picture ni Mario (sa Mario Bros) at mushroom.

----o+o----

Voices of a Distant Star notes

• Kayang magpadala ng SMS mula Jupiter hanggang Earth (with a propagation delay of one year).

• May long-distance relationship sa story, LONG-DISTANCE talaga, million light years!

May lightning na nagaganap between the surface of one of its moons and the planet’s surface

• Narating ng space station na galing sa Earth ang Pluto after a year (sa current space missions, it wil take 9.5 years for one space shuttle from Earth to reach Pluto).

100 Hours of Astronomy

The 100 Hours of Astronomy Cornerstone Project is a worldwide event consisting of a wide range of public outreach activities, live science center, research observatory webcasts and sidewalk astronomy events. One of the key goals of 100 Hours of Astronomy is to have as many people as possible look through a telescope as Galileo did for the first time 400 years ago. 100 Hours of Astronomy will take place from 2-5 April when the Moon goes from first quarter to gibbous, good phases for early evening observing. Saturn will be the other highlight of early evening observing events.
